Poniższe tłumaczenie pochodzi z wydawnictwa Current 93 / Thomas Ligotti “In a Foreign Town, in a Foreign Land”, w skład którego wchodzi płyta oraz książeczka z opowiadaniami. Każde z opowiadań odpowiada tytułem jednemu z czterech utworów na płycie, w tym wypadku jest to “Soft Voice Whispers Nothing”, gdzie David Tibet odczytuje duży fragment tekstu tego opowiadania. Tekst “In a Foreign Town, In a Foreign Land” ukazał się niedawno w nieco wzbogaconej wersji w zbiorze opowiadań “Teatro Grottesco” - jako jedno opowiadanie podzielone na cztery części. -> tutaj <-













Glacial Movements to młoda ale bardzo prężna włoska wytwórnia ambientowa. Działa od niedawna, wydała raptem parę albumów, z których każdy prezentuje co najmniej przyzwoity poziom. Lull, Rapoon... zresztą te nazwy mówią same za siebie. Oto wywiad z mózgiem Ruchów Glacjalnych, Alessandro Tedeschim -> tutaj <- który w wolnych chwilach nagrywa ambient jako Netherworld albo... pomyka na rowerze górskim niczym kozica po Kasprowym.

Wrocławski projekt GHOSTS OF BRESLAU jest już od dawna aktywny na szeroko pojętej scenie industrialnej. Niedawno wydał świetny, debiutancki album w Twilight Records. Mamy wrażenie, że nasza rodzima "prasa" traktuje projekt Kormaka nieco po macoszemu, postanowiliśmy po raz kolejny pokazać, że muzyka duchów z Breslau zasługuje na jak największą uwagę -> tutaj <- Przed Państwem Kormak, którego niektóre wypowiedzi mogą "tym i tamtym" podnieść poziom adrenaliny;). Cold Meat Industry uraczyło nas w ostatnich dniach wspólnym wydawnictwem dwóch już dość uznanych firm w postindustrialnym światku. Mowa tu o DAWN & DUSK ENTWINED i :GOLGATHA: "Sang Graal", bo o tej płycie mowa, charakteryzuje się również intrygującym konceptem, co zresztą widać po tytule. Tak sobie pomyślałem, że warto byłoby pociągnąć za język muzyków w kwestii ich nowego dziełka. This time it's a collective release of two already quite known projects in postindustrial world - DAWN & DUSK ENTWINED and :GOLGATHA: 'Sang Graal' has rather interesting concept, just look at the title. Istnieje jedynie fragmentaryczny przekład w książce Christy Baumgarth "Futuryzm" (WAiF 1987), w załączonych do niej tekstach źródłowych. Ponadto tłumaczył go i publikował Rafał Kochan na którejś z list dyskusyjnych, lecz nie udało mi się do tego dotrzeć. CON-DOM "The eight Pillar - A confession of faith"

"We are proud to present a vinyl diamond for the first time on CD, by the British power electronics industrial outfit Con-Dom, short for Control Domination! The Eight Pillar was the first full-length Con-Dom release dating back to the year 1991, and was the second vinyl release after the Tesco 7" "Oh ye of little faith." This release had an accompanying booklet ordered separately which is now included in the artwork of the CD release. The CD is inspired by the life, writings and example of British author and "man of action" T.E. Lawrence - an enigmatic outsider who lived a tortured odyssey of physical and spiritual extremes in search of his own personal faith. The name of the CD derives from his book called "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom." With these recordings, Mike Dando, the man behind Con-Dom, set high standards in a genre that was just starting to arise. The powerful sounds and his strong voice give a good impression on how torturing the life of Lawrence must have been. Con-Dom explores every kind of social tension and control: political, religious, racial... with an acidic, violent and uncompromising attitude. He is well-known in the industrial scene for his furious ravaging vocals and the devastating live performances, in which he turns into a real stage animal. This record is a perfect example on how good writings and experiences can flow into this sort of industrial/power electronics music. Originally conceived by Andy in the dying days of 2005, it would not be until the spring of the following year that the band took its first steps, and embarked on a journey that would eventually see the project evolve into a 4-piece band (by early 2007). Initially, the songs were stripped-down acoustic guitar compositions with the occasional addition of piano, accordion or organ. However, as the band grew and expanded, the songs were redefined and their sound changed. Today, Passione Nera has evolved from a folk-pop creature into a fully-fledged chamber-pop ensemble. The band keeps one watery alcoholic eye fixed on the cinematic tradition, with melodic landscapes that are dusty and melancholy. These melodious scenes are then wrapped up in lush, orchestrated songs with acoustic and electric guitars taking the center stage, and additionally enhanced by a large array of other instruments. It is as if these songs were written on the backs of 1960s postcards brought back from some imaginary journey into ?Americana?, then bred with French-pop, cross-fertilized with baroque-pop, and finally molded into a soundtrack for the broken-hearted, the disenchanted and the misunderstood. The "Research EP" features appearances by Simone "Hellvis" Salvatori (guest vocals on "Sinking"), and Piergiorgio "PJ" Ambrosi (additional arrangements and co-production) of older brothers Spiritual Front, and will be released as digipak CD-single and limited 7" vinyl".

"LUX INTERNA: the innermost light – an esoteric term that carries intonations of Gnosticism describes the nature of Lux Interna's music very aptly. Singer/songwriter Joshua Levi Ian Gentzke founded the group some ten years ago as an outlet for folk-inspired songs with demanding lyrics revolving around mystical topics of an existential nature. The voice of this music bespeaks a Blakean quest for the divine within this world. He is aided and abetted in this quest by his co-conspirators, Kathryn Gentzke, Katherine Trimble, Kevin Sweet, and Shane Hallinan, all adding vocal, visual and musical textures to the songs. Lux Interna have frequently been compared to artists such as Current 93, Backworld, Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave. This rings true, however, not in terms of imitation, but rather in the sense of a shared spiritual and aesthetic kinship. "Sturm" stands on the top of all, it's truly stormy. All the lyrics are inspired by the spirit from the turn of the century, three of them are by the famous german writers Gertrud Kolmar, Georg Trakl and Stefan George. This pure acoustic music is dominated by the guitars but you will find also an bass, an violine and an accordion in it. The songs are like a dark call from the woods. Listen to them on quite places in moments of melancholy. Then maybe you will remember FORSETI, EMPYRIUM or ULVER but there's never the bitter taste of missing authenticity on "Vigil". On the contrary: no other band combines poetry, music and sound so close to a picture of humans in the woods and meadows…".

"THE JOY OF NATURE is a multimedia project from the Azores, with music as its main focus (the Azores are a group of 9 islands between Europe and North America, belonging to Portugal). It was created in 1999 as "The Joy of Nature and Discipline", and reduced to "The Joy of Nature" in 2006, following a change in its sound - more organic and acoustic. Musically, "The Joy of Nature" is like a serpent always renewing itself - never resting in one shape, changing the form but keeping the same essence. “Swirling Lands of Disquiet and Catharsis” is the first part of a trilogy entitled “The Empty Circle”. Each part of the trilogy has a correspondence with the three main hermetic-alchemical phases: Nigredo, Albedo and Rubedo and, at the same time and correspondingly, to individual experience, inheritance of our ancestors and, finally, the overcoming of a mere individual state of existence. This first part corresponds to Nigredo. The subtitle of this work - “A Theatre lost in The Vast Abyss of Starry Skies” came in a lucid dream in which appeared the idea that this world in which we live our day-to-day lives can be compared to a small theatre in a vast abyss of starry skies. This album is about a world of disquiet, in which a catharsis should be done. To gather the impurities, realize their nature and build something pure from there. The music follows the concept - there are elements of Folk, Ambient, Psychedelic and Experimental music, mixed in a coherent way, creating a unique sound and a breathtaking atmosphere, predominantly acoustic and with dark tones".

Their music is best to describe as dreamy NeoFolk with a slight DarkPop touch, with orchestral parts, martial drums and even some apocalyptically dark experimental passages. On "333" the band plays a large variety of acoustic instruments, like several different guitars, bass, violins, flutes, drums, didgeridoo,... as well as a few beautiful electronic arrangements.
